River Greta · Rutherford Beat
Mill Beat
Remote, intimate and rewarding fishing for the more adventurous angler on a secluded stretch of the Greta.
About the beat
River Greta
Also known as Rutherford Beat, this is single north-bank fishing and presents challenging fishing for the more adventurous angler. Wading can be tricky and the beat is best suited to anglers who are physically fit. In return, it offers superb fishing in some very secluded pools and glides.
Fishing approachTravel as light as possible. A shorter rod and light tackle are well suited to this water. A wading staff is essential. Because the location is remote, let somebody know where you are going and carry a mobile phone.
